چکیده

The anti-Compton phoswich (ACP) detector, which is composed of multiple scintillators with one photomultiplier tube, takes into account the Compton suppression function and portability, therefore, a discussion on how to design its shape improve performance detector has become necessary. Based an ACP using well-typed LaBr3:Ce/NaI:Tl composite scintillator that been developed in laboratory early work, this study uses GEANT4 simulate influence change size secondary such as ratio, energy resolution, full-energy peak (FEP) loss. In course study, we mainly investigate variation two ways. First, inclination angle truncated cone gradually changed compare FEP address ratio. Second, case well-shaped annular-shaped compared, respectively, find out their impact resolution address. final results show that, compared φ75 × 90 mm2 cylindrical scintillator, cone-shaped 0.8 may have equivalent 137% light yield (137% signal-to-noise ratio), ratio 89.62% (at 662 keV), 89.98% FWHM volume reduction 36.74%, means weight reduced by 2.107 kg.

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

A Compton-Suppressed Phoswich Detector for Gamma Spectroscopy

A phoswich detector with two scintillation layers has been designed and assembled at Oregon State University. This detector is able to identify and reject Compton events and ultimately reduce the Compton continuum in gamma energy spectra. In this detector, CsI(Tl) crystal is used to primarily detect photoelectric events. The CsI(Tl) crystal is partially surrounded by a BGO crystal layer to capt...

Design and Modeling of a Compton-suppressed Phoswich Detector for Radioxenon Monitoring

By measuring the concentration of four xenon radioisotopes in the atmosphere, the International Monitoring System (IMS) can verify nuclear weapons tests around the world. To measure ultra-low concentrations of radioxenons, many detection systems, such as the Automated Radioxenon Sampler and Analyzer (ARSA) and the Swedish Automatic Unit for Noble gas Acquisition (SAUNA), have been developed and...
